Kerstin Brix, Mezzo-soprano from Bochum, Germany, began her musical career in the world famous Starlight Express in 1988.
Since 1990 she has studied classical singing at the Bergischen Gesangsinstitut Gummersbach. From then on she has gotten engagements for many musical productions, such as Jesus Christ Superstar (Soulgirl), Jimmy Dean, and The Rocky Horror Show. In Carmen- Die Königin vom Klapperhof from Walter Bockmeyer, she sang the role of Lilly Pastia, and in Eric Woolfson's Gambler she was the Duchess. Recently she performed as a guest-soloist in the Mönchengladbach/Krefeld Stadttheater's musical production Made in Germany.
Kerstin has sung for many well-known musical CD's such as Starlight Express and Little Shop of Horrors. One can also hear her singing on film and radio trailers and also some television series.
In Gala performances Kerstin has sung with well-known artists including Roberto Bianco and Anna Mwale. Kerstin also performed in Kaleidoscope- The Musical Concert with Jaqueline Aubert and the other Gambler and Gaudi musical stars.
Since 10 years Kerstin has been recording and performing with her singing quintet Gimme 5. They have just released their 3rd CD Absolut. The Presentation Concert for the release of Absolut was a huge success with a sold out audience of over 700.
After a recent Gimme 5 concert, the Gelsenkirchen WAZ newspaper wrote, "When Kerstin Brix sang her Whatever Lola Wants or Chanson d'Amour with her fiery eroticism, no one could resist the magic of the group."
Kerstin has also been working as a singing teacher since 1992 for musicschools and many musical productions. Presently she is the Vocal Coach for the Unified City Theaters of Krefeld/Mönchengladbach production of The Black Rider.
